Our story

A London heritage business.
A Karachi factory built from it.

-------

Great West Clothing Company began 31 years ago as a family-owned heritage tourist retail business in London β€” supplying souvenir and licensed apparel across the UK’s most iconic destinations. Five years in, rather than rely on external suppliers, the family made a decisive move: open their own factory in Karachi, Pakistan.

That early commitment to vertical integration β€” unusual at the time β€” is what defines GWCC today. It led to 26 years of decorated apparel production for some of the world’s most recognised licensed properties β€” building deep expertise in graphic-driven apparel across the UK, Europe, and the GCC.

"We understand the needs of licensees and retail partners, because we've acted as our own."

Market positioning

Numbers that close the deal

Third-party validated metrics β€” not marketing claims. Shared openly because transparency is part of the partnership model.

Quadrant A β€” Global Giants

You're just another SKU

10,000+ employees, rigid MOQs (>10,000 units), slow to adapt, small changes trigger long approval chains. Buyer reality: low personal risk for the factory. High commercial risk for you.

Quadrant B β€” Integrated Specialists

GWCC Β· The winning sweet spot

~800-unit MOQ Rapid Capsule Programs. WRAP Gold + OEKO-TEX Class I. 14 active sewing lines, 1,200+ employees, 330K+ units/mo. In-house design, embellishment, full governance.

Quadrant C β€” Commodity Bulk

Cheap on paper, costly in practice

Optimised for lowest unit cost. Lacks 14-colour print capability for licensed work. Inconsistent execution. Quality fluctuates, specs drift. You save cents and lose monetarily in returns.

Quadrant D β€” Domestic Workshops

Fast today, dangerous tomorrow

High agility, zero compliance framework. Cannot pass SEDEX/SMETA for western retail or licensed IP programs. One social compliance issue undoes years of brand building.

Market positioning

The integrated specialist sweet spot

GWCC sits in the rare quadrant most brands are actually looking for β€” high agility and high sophistication. Global Giants can’t react fast enough. Commodity Bulk can’t hold quality. GWCC does both.

MOQ & scalability

↳ Tip: Discuss assortment phasing to optimise across multiple SKUs

1,200 – 5,000

Units β€” Hardlines & Accessories

Dependent on material, tooling, and sourcing. Partners sourced from China (SEDEX/BSCI approved) for drinkware, gifts, and headwear. Hardgoods, accessories, and gifts also available via GWCC’s Shanghai sourcing office.
